Dr. Yimin Shu

Dr. Yimin Shu is Board Certified by the American Board of Bioanalysis as a High-Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director (HCLD) in the disciplines of Embryology and Andrology. Dr. Shu received his medical training and Ph.D. degree from Sun Yat-Sen University in China and served as a senior research scientist at Stanford University.He has over 14 years’ experience as a senior embryologist with large IVF programs in both China and the United States. His extensive experience covers all aspects of clinical embryology and andrology, including maintaining the highest possible standards in the IVF laboratory, oocyte and embryo culture, intracytoplasmic sperm injection, blastocyst culture, assisted hatching, embryo biopsy, preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD),fertility cryopreservation by vitrification, and in vitro oocyte maturation. Dr Shu has been actively involved in both clinical and basic research and has authored over 30 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals. He has been selected asa peer-reviewer by several medical journals in the filed of reproductive biology and infertility and is now serving as a member of the editorial board of Human Reproduction. Current research projects are focused on growth factors and embryonic development, blastocyst differentiation, embryonic markers to predict implantation, egg freezing, ovarian tissue cryopreservation and immature follicle maturation. Dr. Shu’s strong background in both clinical embryology and reproductive biology allows him to better understand the mechanism of human reproduction and provide an excellent clinical service to infertility patients.
