
Dr. Yimin Shu is Board Certified by the American Board of Bioanalysis as a High-Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director (HCLD) in the disciplines of Embryology andAndrology. Dr. Shu received his medical training and Ph.D. degree from Sun Yat-Sen University in China and served as a senior research scientist at Stanford University.He has over 14 years’ experience as a senior embryologist with large IVF programs inboth China and the United States. His extensive experience covers all aspects of clinicalembryology and andrology, including maintaining the highest possible standards in theIVF laboratory, oocyte and embryo culture, intracytoplasmic sperm injection, blastocystculture, assisted hatching, embryo biopsy, preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD),fertility cryopreservation by vitrification, and in vitro oocyte maturation. Dr Shu hasbeen actively involved in both clinical and basic research and has authoredover 30 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals. He has been selected asa peer-reviewer by several medical journals in the filed of reproductive biologyand infertility and is now serving as a member of the editorial board of HumanReproduction. Current research projects are focused on growth factors andembryonic development, blastocyst differentiation, embryonic markers to predictimplantation, egg freezing, ovarian tissue cryopreservation and immaturefollicle maturation. Dr. Shu’s strong background in both clinical embryology andreproductive biology allows him to better understand the mechanism of humanreproduction and provide an excellent clinical service to infertility patients.
