Dr. William Kutteh participated in a Grand Rounds presentation in the Marlo Thomas Center Board Room at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital entitled “Fertility Preservation at St. Jude: Past, Present, and Future” . Dr. Dan Mulrooney, a member of the Cancer Survivorship Division discussed identifying candidates for fertility preservation based and their diagnosis and treatment plan. Dr. James Klosky, Director of Psychological Services in Cancer Survivorship, discussed factors that influence an individuals willingness to participate in fertility preservation.
Dr. Kutteh, Co-Director of the Fertility Preservation Program at St. Jude Children’s Hospital, spoke on the experience of having an on-site clinic at St. Jude to coordinate fertility preservation efforts. This program involves all four physicians and nursing staff at Fertility Associates of Memphis who provide 24/7 services to St. Jude patients, as well as the staff at Memphis Fertility Laboratory who specialize in cryopreservation of sperm, oocytes, embryos, and tissue from the ovaries and testes.
