As a board certified fertility doctor in Memphis, Amelia Bailey, MD, provides a higher level of care

What distinguishes a board certified reproductive endocrinologist from any other fertility doctor in Memphis? Dr. Amelia Bailey pursued years of additional training and rigorous board testing. She joins our other three physicians in being board certified in reproductive endocrinology and infertility by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.

After medical school and board certification as an obstetrician and gynecologist, Dr. Bailey took the path less traveled. She chose to apply her clinical and surgical skills in the highly specialized field of reproductive endocrinology and infertility. Accepted to the prestigious Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School program for fellowship training, our Memphis fertility doctor trained under pioneers in reproductive medicine while teaching at Harvard Medical School and working as a visiting scientist at the Massachusetts Institute for Technology.

Dr. Amelia Bailey completed 15 years of higher education and training

To prepare herself for REI sub-specialty certification, Dr. Bailey invested an additional three years in clinical training before her written and oral examination administered by experts in the REI field. It’s no surprise that this former Phi Beta Kappa and McDonnell-Barksdale Honors College student passed on her first attempt.

Raising awareness drives our fertility doctor in Memphis

It’s apropos that Dr. Bailey achieve a career milestone in April, during National Infertility Awareness Month. “Our entire team contributes to infertility awareness campaigns to share facts and prevention tips. Our website features ongoing infertility news to educate our patients, and we all conduct research to improve the quality and effectiveness of care for all people struggling with infertility,” says Dr. Paul Brezina, who is also a board certified reproductive endocrinologist at our Memphis fertility center.

Dr. Bailey will continue to raise the bar for herself to positively impact her chosen field. Earning board certification and sitting for this incredibly difficult exam did not hamper the clinical or research efforts of our fertility doctor in Memphis. She recently contributed to Fertility and Sterility, a peer-reviewed journal, with a paper examining preimplantation genetic screening, PGS.
